The Role: We are seeking a seasoned HR Manager to lead all aspects of HR and support our Vietnam offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Serving as a strategic consultant to business leaders, the HR Manager focuses on fostering a culture of excellence, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. By understanding the critical needs of the business, the HR Manager collaborates with key team members to create and implement HR solutions that drive performance, enhance employee satisfaction, and support the achievement of business goals. The incumbent will report functionally to the Director, Human Resources for Asia based in Singapore and has one direct report (HR Associate) based in Hanoi.
Key Responsibilities Include:
HR Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic business partner to drive business outcomes by optimizing talent, organizational structure, processes, and culture. Provide actionable insights and tailored solutions to address business needs.
- Ensure full compliance with local labor regulations and be responsible for the periodic review and update of the local employee handbook.
- Report functionally to the HR Director for Asia and collaborate closely with the global HRBP team to cultivate and enhance an exceptional employee experience.
- Contribute to global and regional HR projects as required, while building and maintaining a network of partners to support the successful execution of local HR initiatives.
- Evaluate employee engagement levels and partner with managers and employees to strengthen workplace relationships, improve productivity, and enhance employee retention.
- Provide guidance to managers on resolving employee relations matters, including addressing performance issues and policy violations. Handle disciplinary processes, including terminations, in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
HR Support Services
- Lead and oversee HR administrative services across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee wellbeing, recognition, retention, and offboarding
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HR processes, analytics, reporting, and system support, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage critical thinking and data analysis to provide insights and reporting on employment relations and workforce trends.
- Lead the HR administrative lifecycle by maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
- Ensure data integrity by maintaining and updating HR systems and documents within Workday, supporting seamless HR operations.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a solid academic record.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience with demonstrated ability as a HRBP or in a generalist role within an international company.
- Ability to adjust between strategy and tactical execution and comfortably navigate ambiguous or "gray" areas.
- Commercial approach with a curiosity about the business, the environment, and its people.
- Outstanding communication and social skills, with the poise and confidence to interact with and influence clients at all levels.
- Solid knowledge of Vietnam labour laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, multifaceted, constantly evolving environment.
- Travel readiness as required by business demands is needed for this role.
- Demonstrate judgment and integrity in critical situations.
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
