Why WorldQuant: Insight for Impact
Ashish Kulkarni, Vice President, Research, is part of a ‘team of teams.’
What brought me to WorldQuant is the innovative culture. There is a lot of room for exploration.
My background is in engineering. I did my undergrad in chemical engineering, and then after that I got two graduate degrees, one in engineering and the other one in information theory at MIT. Back in 2014 I joined WorldQuant. It was an awesome opportunity to enter the statistical arbitrage space.
We have a team-of-teams approach here, and that allows you to innovate and be creative across multiple disciplines.
You get to see a lot more verticals of the business, so you see data, you see research, tech and PM. You gain a much broader appreciation for the business that is hard to get at other places. I have had the opportunity to stay abreast of a lot of new tech, artificial intelligence, machine learning. There is a lot more automation making us more productive and staying on the cutting edge.
It’s exciting to be part of this journey and to evolve.
