Information We Obtain From Other Sources
We may also get information about you from third parties. Please note, as our offices are protected by CCTV, you may be recorded when you visit. We use CCTV to provide a safe and secure environment for those who work in and visit our offices.

We use artificial intelligence systems and tools in the course of our business, which may include processing personal information. We do not use automated decision-making in our processing of personal information.
How We Share Information
We may disclose your information under the following circumstances:

- to service providers, including our subcontractors, agents and any person who provides professional, legal, tax, accounting advice, background check and verification services or other services to us in order to provide a better service and user experience. We work with agencies, ad networks, technology providers, and other third parties to place ads about our products and services on other websites and services. For example, we place ads though Google that you may view on Google’s platforms as well as on other websites and services. As part of this process, we incorporate tracking technologies into our own Service as well as into our ads displayed on other websites and services. Some of these tracking technologies may track your activities over time and across non-affiliated services or obtain or infer information about you for purposes of showing you relevant advertising based on your preferences and interests (“targeted advertising”).
- to our third-party business partners and/or with other third parties for the purposes as stated in this Privacy Policy or for other purposes disclosed to you.
- as required by, or to comply with, applicable law, regulation, court process or other statutory requirement or to enforce our legal rights or agreements with you or others.

In addition, we may integrate technologies into our Website, including those described in the Cookies Policy, that are controlled by third parties. Except where third parties act as our service providers, they (and not us) determine the purposes and means of processing your information.

We are based in the U.S. and the information we collect is governed by U.S. law. Some of the uses and disclosures of information mentioned in this Privacy Policy may involve the transfer and processing of your personal information to and in various countries that may have different levels of privacy protection than your home country.

Processing of Personal Information of Citizens of Armenia
WorldQuant is what is known as a “data processor” for the purposes of Armenian data protection laws. If you are a citizen of Armenia and we are processing your personal data in the context of the activities of our establishment in Armenia, or Armenia data privacy law otherwise applies, you may have additional rights provided to you that are not specifically mentioned in this Privacy Policy. More specifically you may have the following rights:

Processing of Personal Information in China
The following notice is provided for citizens of the People’s Republic of China. The Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”) applies to the processing of personal information of natural persons within, and in certain circumstances outside of, the territory of the People’s Republic of China. If we are processing your personal data in the context of the activities of our establishment in China or the PIPL otherwise applies, these data protection laws may provide you with additional rights not specifically mentioned in this Privacy Policy, including the rights to restrict or refuse the processing of your personal data (unless otherwise required by laws and administrative regulations), consult, copy, correct, supplement or delete the data.
Further, your rights may include the right for you to request an explanation of our processing rules for your personal information and/or request the transfer your personal information to the personal information handler you designate when the legal conditions for such transfers are satisfied.
We are authorized to use the information you provide on an ongoing basis during your use of the Website.
With your explicit consent, which is provided by accepting the terms of this Privacy Policy, we may share your personal information within our organization, with our third party business partners, business associates, or subcontractors, and/or with other third parties (including, but not limited to: software service providers, background check vendors, email delivery platforms, and analytics providers) only for the purposes as stated in this Privacy Policy.
We take steps to safeguard your personal information. We will not transfer your personal data to any company, organization or individual outside of WorldQuant and our affiliates, except as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Processing of Personal Information in Israel
For recruitment to our entity in Israel (WorldQuant Research (Israel) Ltd., hereinafter known as the “Israeli Entity“) and others who interact with our Israeli Entity: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, by providing personal data or engaging with the Israeli Entity, you consent to the processing of your personal data (including to cross-border transfers of your personal data), as detailed in this Privacy Policy, with consent serving as the sole legal basis for all processing operations except those required by law. While providing personal data is voluntary, refusing to do so may affect the Israeli Entity‘s ability to maintain business relationships or consider you for employment opportunities.
Please note that under Israeli Privacy Law, not all data subject rights mentioned in this Privacy Policy apply. We hereby inform you of your right to request access to your personal data and, in certain cases, to request changes to or deletion of your personal data.
Notice to California Residents
The notice below is provided to California residents who are job applicants or contractors who submit their resumes through our Website or inquire about business opportunities through the “contact us” feature. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as replaced by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), such job applicants or contractors qualify as “Consumers.” As described in this Privacy Policy in more detail, when using our Website to apply for an open position or inquire about employment or business opportunities, we may collect personal information as defined under the CCPA, for the reasons set forth above.

We do not sell your personal information as that term is traditionally understood. However, some of our disclosures of personal information may be considered a “sale” or “share” as that term is defined under the CCPA. A “sale” is broadly defined under the CCPA to include a disclosure for something of value, and a “share” is broadly defined under the CPRA to include a disclosure for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may collect, share, or sell the following categories of personal information for commercial purposes: identifiers, characteristics, commercial or transactions information, internet activity, non-precise geolocation data, and inferences drawn. The categories of third parties to whom we may sell or share your personal information include, where applicable, vendors and other parties involved in cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 years old who are California residents.

Some of the personal information we collect may be considered sensitive information under the CPRA. For example, your driver’s license or passport number and your biometric information. We collect, use, and disclose such sensitive personal information only for the permissible business purposes for sensitive personal information under the CCPA or without the purpose of inferring characteristics about consumers. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information.
Subject to certain limitations, under the CCPA, if you are a Consumer, you have the right to know certain details about our data practices. In particular, you may request the following from us:
- The categories of personal information we have collected about you;
- The categories of sources from which the personal information was collected;
- The categories of personal information about you we disclosed for a business purpose or sold or shared;
- The categories of persons to whom the personal information was disclosed for a business purpose or sold or shared;
- The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling or sharing the personal information; and
- The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
You also have the right to delete or correct the personal information we have collected from you.

Please note these rights are subject to exceptions. In the request, please specify which right you are seeking to exercise and the scope of the request. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond consistent with applicable law. We may require specific information from you to help us verify your identity and process your request. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may deny your request.
In addition, you have the following rights:
- Right to Opt-Out of Sales or Shares. To the extent we sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, you have the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by us. You may exercise this right by adjusting your preferences in the cookie manager . You may also opt-out by turning on a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, in your browser or extension. Please note that when you submit an opt-out through either method we do not know who you are within our systems, and your opt-out will apply only to information collected from tracking technologies on the specific browser from which you opt-out. If you delete or reset your cookies, or use a different browser or device, you will need to reconfigure your settings.
- Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of Your Privacy Rights. You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of your privacy rights conferred by the CCPA.
- Authorized Agent. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request under the CCPA on your behalf. Requests must be submitted through the designated methods listed above. Except for opt-out requests, we will require written proof of the agent’s permission to do so and may verify your identity directly.
Customers who are residents of California may request (i) a list of the categories of personal information (as that term is defined by Shine the Light) disclosed by us to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes; and (ii) a list of the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information. To exercise a request, please write us at the address set out in “Contact Us” section below and specify that you are making a “California Shine the Light Request.” We may require additional information from you to allow us to verify your identity and are only required to respond to requests once during any calendar year.
Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Note, however, there is no industry consensus as to what site and app operators should do with regard to these signals. Accordingly, unless and until the law is interpreted to require us to do so, we do not monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals.
