This year\u2019s IQC marked another year where registrations have nearly doubled year over year since 2024 \u2013 growing from ~38,000 participants in 2024 to ~80,000 in 2025 to ~156,000 in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ui-kit-media-gallery mt-6 lg:mt-12\">\n<div class=\"ui-kit-media-gallery__preview pb-6\">\n<div class=\"ui-kit-media-gallery-item\">\n<div class=\"ui-kit-media-gallery-item__media h-[220px] md:h-[500px] flex justify-center items-center mb-10 bg-neutralBg relative\">\n<div class=\"bw-release-body ui-kit-press-release-body ui-kit-press-release__body\">\n<div id=\"bw-release-story\" class=\"press-release ui-kit-press-release-content overflow-hidden bw-release-story ui-kit-press-release-body__story mt-6 lg:mt-10 font-oxygen text-base font-normal leading-[1.5em] lg:text-xl lg:leading-[1.6em]\">\n<p>The winners were selected following the Global Finals in Singapore on October 6\u20137, where 13 finalist teams developed and presented new alphas\u00b9 in a live challenge before a panel of WorldQuant leaders. The finalists represented 13 universities across four continents, reflecting the breadth of the global talent pool entering quantitative research.<\/p>\n<p><i>The 2026 IQC Champions:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li><i>First Place: Victor Ayebameru, Adekunle Ajasin University (Nigeria)<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Second Place: Ziming Xu, Fudan University (Mainland China)<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Third Place: Chang Yen Tsai, National Taiwan University (Taiwan)<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAI is reshaping how innovation happens,\u201d said Igor Tulchinsky, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WorldQuant. \u201cWith the right tools, an individual can now work at a scale that once required a full team. However, these tools do not decide which questions matter. The event convened students whose academic backgrounds span computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics and related disciplines, illustrating how quantitative research benefits from varied perspectives and ways of thinking.
